I have a 300g tank I have stocked with some Cichlids and a BUNCH of small tropical fish.
Stock list is:

24 Zebra Danio's
12 Black Neons
12 Von Rio Tetra's
12 Red Eye Tetra's
12 Cherry Barbs
6 Cory Cats
4 Dojo Loach's
4 Gold Severum's....Small for now
4 Green Severum's....Small for now
2 German Ram's
1 Pleco...Small for now

I am running a Eheim 2262 Canister full of Eheim Sub,Sub Pro,Efimec,EfiFix and filter wool and two Emperor 400's with super Cartriages.

I am pretty sure I am going to need to bump the filtration as these fish grow so I want to do that now. I just dont know what would be my best bet. I want something reliable, but I also dont want to introduce much more of a flow rate to the tank. The 2262 already produces a lot of current and a second one,I think, would just be to much.

What do you think would be my best route to take?
And NO, I dont want a sump.:)

stop lying to yourself. You know you want a sump....

If my tank was drilled, and I wish it was, I would have a Big Ol' sump.
But it's not and I dont like the Hang on Back Overflows nor the idea of trusting a siphon to operate it.
All I can think about is the power turning off in my house when I am gone and either:

A. The pump running out of water and burning my house down or
B. Something happening and the sump overflow's.

I just like the comfort of the Canister Filter.
I know it's not perfect and free from worries, but it's less likely that it will cause a problem.
My power has cut off twice since I have had my Eheim 2262. And she restarted like a champ both times. Faster than the Emperor's did.
