Hello everyone,

As you can see this is my first post on this wonderful site, not sure if there are any hazing rituals but if there are, have at.

I need advice on a what size my next tank should be, I currently have a 65 gallon with 4 sa/ca cichlids (JD, Texas, Convict and Black-Belt) 1 leporinus and 2 pleco's. I know fully well that they cannot live in a 65 for life (none are full size), hence the purchase of a bigger tank.

I'm thinking I would need at least a 140g tank but i'm not sure, would the nice people of MFK be able to point me in the right direction?

thanks.

True but I'd like to put it in the same place as my current tank, that limits the length to 72" (height and width doesn't really matter)

6 ft. footprints are relatively common. My 150 is 6 ft. I know 180's are 6 ft. as well. Haven't really looked into 200+ gallons, not sure when they jump to 8 ft.

If you want a hazing ritual...just post "I got this cute 3 inch red tail catfish and an 8 inch silverhttp://www.bing.com/search?q=arowana&FORM=AWRE arowana in a 55 gallon and the tank look empty, can I get some other fish?" :)

Seriously though...180 gallon is going to be the most economical large tank you are going to get if 72 inch is your limit(72x24x24)

Go BIG young man! Length is really important so you might want to get creative and see if you can swing a tank longer than 6'.
