I am setting up a new 150 gal tank and bought a nice piece of mounted driftwood. When I went to put it in the tank i discovered it would not sink so I could but some rocks on the base. Do I need to soak it for like a week?

Thanks

I would soak it for a day or two. Then you should not have a floating problem.

I soak mine for 24 hrs. I always use Malaysian driftwood, never had a problem with this.

Depending on the size and how water logged it already is, it could take years to sink on its own. I have a couple pieces that still float like an inflated balloon after 1 + years

you could weigh it down with rocks, just make sure they are secure. Or you could drill slate chunks onto the bottom to help sink it.
