Need advice on health issue..

I've got an african brown knife that has been flashing for about 2-3 weeks, no sign of ick, eating fine, no problems other than the flashing. Coloration maybe a little bit lighter than normal but nothing crazy. Well, I caught my firemouth flashing on the gravel a little bit today although he stopped and hasn't again since. I know there's always the possibility of ick, but I was wondering if maybe internal parasites or something less common could also cause flashing? Water parameters are all good, tank isn't overstocked, and also if it helps the brown knife is defacating normally, no stringyness etc.

I went ahead and added a few tbs of aquarium salt just in case, and also what would you consider the best treatment for scaleless fish such as ABK and bichirs? I know there is one ur not supposed to use i just can't remember which...
 
come on anybody? can somebody at least tell me whether it's copper or malachite green that ur not supposed to use with scaleless fish?
 
Malachite green is harmful to scaleless fish and silver scaled fish
 
Occasional flashing is fine but not frequent. Until you see other signs that may be the ones that are the cause for concern, do NOT bother to treat. Just be ready with the meds in case parasites strike at the wrong time but be certain first before you treat. Do you have praziquantel just in case?
 
Okay so rid ich is no good for them i wasn't sure, where can i get praziquantel? would petsmart or petco have that or would i have to find a good LFS? (haven't been able to find any in raleigh that aren't all or majority saltwater)
 
Some petstores might carry Prazipro but you buy it online best just to be sure. The other prazi brand is Droncit in veterinary clinics.
