So, I'm picking up a RR 72 bowfront tonight, my plan is to transfer all the contents from my 40 gallon apisto tank to it in a couple of weeks. Obviously being a RR tank I'm going to be using a wet/dry. As far as lighting is concerned right now I have a Nova 2x54w 48" T5-HO lighting system and will be picking up either another 4x54 setup, or a 8x54 T5-HO system (trying to contact CL sellers now) So with 6 or 8 54w T5-HO's it's going to be a high light tank. With the high light I'm going to go with a pressurized CO2 as well. I'd like to have as little equipment in tank as possible. I remember reading somewhere that you can inject the CO2 into a canister and use it as a reactor. Can I put a peice of tubing on the intake of the pump in the w/d and plumb the CO2 that way?

Going to use a combination of the sand that's in my 40 now and Eco-complete where I want my carpet plants.

I would like a variety of ferns and mosses along with a few other "feature" plants like the dowani.

Your going to have to have them measure the light, as T5's have not yet been set for one size. Helios, coralife, and hagen are all different sizes.

No worries, I'm suspending the light above the tank and not putting glass on it. Only small fish in here so I'm not too worried about jumpers, the grass shrimp in there might jump out, but that's about it.

What's your thoughts on plumbing the CO2 into the w/d return pump? And I know surface agitation let's the CO2 escape the water. What effect would using a w/d have on that? Would I be better off using a canister?

And I talked to the guy with the light I linked above, I'm getting that one, it'll be the only light I use on the tank as I'm sure 432w is more than enough.

You were talking about the bulb weren't you? :duh:

I'll be sure to do that.

Sorry. Yes, the bulbs vary in length quite a bit still.

Pressurized co2 and w/d can work, but it is a huge waste. W/D filters are not the best for planted tanks.

Good to know, I'll just use a canister then. I figured with the drip system in the w/d it would really have a negative effect on the CO2 and I'd have to use way more to get the same results as using it with a canister.

Once I get things going I'd like to talk to you about purchasing some plants from you. Figure better to have them shipped from ID, than Maylasia. Any good mosses available?
