"There is no such thing as over filtration, only excessive water movement!"

I'm running an eheim pro III 2080 and a Rena Filstar 4 on my 300g and I'm having problems with excessive water movement! on full effect with the eheim the fish looks like leafs at autumn and the plants lay down on the bottom.. is there any way of avoiding this? I know guys running multiple fx5's on smaller tanks than mine, how do you do it?

I had excess flow on my wet/dry return to the tank. I changed the output in my tank from a 1" spout to a 1 1/2" spout. Worked great.

Could you do something like that?

Agreed.Larger diameter return will have the same flow but less pressure.

I probably used the wrong wording. I still have the same flow but it drastically cut down on the "jet" effect on the water.

hmm.. not a bad idea! I'll work on it! could it be bad for the fish with to much pressure?

Depends on the fish. Some fish like a strong current while other like it more calm.

I have plenty of water movement in most of my tanks but I don't have plants.

And what does that have to do with the price of beans in China? :grinno:

I'm most concerned about the aro.. I know they dislike current.. but well I'll have it fixed in half an hour. =)

Let us know how it goes!
