well my wife finally let in and let me get some little monsters!
1 JD 6-7" and 2 Convicts 5"

the advice i need is on taking photos....mine as in my gallery are blurry and cant get the good coloring of the JD? HELP!! how do yall take those great pics?

and oh yeah they sold me the JD as a Texas Cichlid for $15 (steal for here!) and the convicts where only 7 each. :headbang2

sorry i just submitted my pics takes a few i think.

I've always gotten the best pics (that my camera can get anyway) by using the flash, having as much light on in the tank as possible with no other lights on in the room, and putting the lense right up against the glass. oh and I also use the macro mode on the camera. putting the lense up against the glass takes away the glare that you normally get if you stand back. you can also shoot from an angle, but depending on the angle you take it can distort the body shape of the fish a little. :)

taking pictures of fish is so much harder then i thought it was before i tried it. i put all the lights on the tank but i keep my flash off. everyone has a different way to do it. but ya, its an art. after i started taking pictures i got a whole new feeling for those really good pics in POTM.

Thanks Yall

wow thats not bad for the jd but for the convicts a little expensive, seeing as i heard that you can catch them in streams and ponds. but i find that taking pics is easy when feeding.. the fish at an angle

i live in hawaii so i dont have any streams or ponds really.....and the one that are here dont have regular fish in them. only hawaiian kind

I light up everything as much as possible and shoot at an angle to get rid of the glare. I use flash to. We need some more POTM winners to tell you.
