need advice.

i got some firemouth cichlids and i was wondering what kind if smaller catfish should i get. any info would be much apreciated.

synodontis species, jaguar cats, pictus.

i would say hoplo. they are a very personable catfish, and wont be pushed around by the firemouths. Plus if you can get both sp. to breed that would be really cool. onlly problem is that hoplos breed in cold water. so that might pose a bit of a problem. But def hoplo i think people pass over these guys too readily

pictus are nice fish, love em, but dont get them if you have slow eating fish. pictus will eat everything in sight so fast its insane.

Synos might be the safest bet with cichlids. Jags should do well, too.
