but my main concern is my favorite motoros appettite.

thanks.

I would isolate her for at least a week to rule out aggression/competition. If appetite does not increase, use salt at a rate of 3#'s per 100 gallons. Dosing half one day and half the next to reach full concentraion. Keep heat on the high side, about 82F. If no results in a few days of salt bath run a course of Metronidazole, this takes 7 days of 1tsp per 20 gallons dosing daily with 50% water change daily. Metro. is a safe and effective way to knock out any gut nasties that are ailing her and curbing her appetite, indirectly it works as an appetite stimulus.

You can Metro. from day one if you want at the same time you isolate her.

oh yeah, love that ray! all those spots!

i go more on a tonic treatment of salt and just do 1# per 100... there is nothing wrong to warrent 3# imo.... how long have you had this ray in the tank? ive seen in past motoro's that they will pick at food then one day there appetite goes through the roof... if she is eating i wouldnt really worry unless she is real skinny

You could just try a higher temp in the tank as well. I just recommended all the action b/c in the past the ray that ate the least was always the smallest one, thus living stressed all the time which gets compounded by getting less food.
Very intresting point

thanks :) they don't seem to be fighting , she's eating , though not as much as the 2 :)
but i noticed she seems to be more afraid of me? or is it room lights.
I've had her for 3-4 months now. I also have another tank with only a small arowana and clown loach, would it be better to move her into the other tank? then i can feed her earthworms, since in her current tank, the aro likes earthworms, so it would not get to her.

If I really felt like she was not getting adequate food I would definitely move her, assuming the other tank is just as "clean."

give her some time... she doesnt look skinny in the pix... i wouldnt move her

thanks :) She eats though not that much, I will try to feed my 2 other motoros full, then drop some earthworms, hopefully she'll get more food .
really appreciate the help :D will try to post update.
btw is it safe to feed motoros tubifex?
