IN MY TANK
Hi,

I will be setting up a new 180gallon tank and have a few questions.

1) Filters , will be running a 100liter sump filter and a 1000liter canister filter, Will this be good enough filter system for this tank?
2)Filter material for the sump, planing to fill the sump with bio balls, char coal, ammonia stone and filter wool. Is there anything im missing?
3)In the tank i want to only have black sand as i want to be able to see my polyterus and want to get a few other big fish like clown knifes Florida gar. Will plain sand be ok in your opinion?

Thank you:):grinno:

1) Yes
2)Stick with filter "wool" or pads for mechanical filter and lots of bio balls for biological. Carbon would only need to be used as a quick fix for odors and water clarity. Same goes for the ammo chips. (as long as you stay on top of your maintenance, you will be fine with just filter wool and bio balls.
3) Plain black sand is perfect, most poly keepers use sand.
