Need an auto lid lifter (one arm)

I'm helping a guy set up a tank and he only has one arm. The lid/light is rather heavy is there anything that I could use to help lift the lid. Thanks

What about a type of pulley with a rope? isnt automatic but would make things easy with just a pull of the rope.

try using a little arm that runs on battery power like on a rc car

I would use an Linear actuator , shouldn't be to hard to rig it up , hope this helps

^^What he said. A small strut like the ones used on pickup truck bed tool boxes should do the trick nicely without overengineering the whole project.

why not get a lid that just folds up? with a python and just a regular fold up lid i never have to remove the top?
or if its a larger tank im going to make a small set of sliders for my lights to push back and forth on while doing feeding and cleanings on the 225
