Hi all, I just picked up this little tyke the other day and I can't figure out what it he/she is. The lfs had two tanks full of them, with one labeled "Melon Cichlids" and the other labeled "Windowpane cichlids." The smaller ones were only like $7. Anyone know what it is?

Also the dorsal fin has a reddish orange tint that gets darker/stronger towards the top edge, if that helps. It's just kinda hard to see it in the pics.

Looks like a Paraneetroplus/Paratheraps/Vieja of some kind. But that's a shot in the dark, I'm by no means an expert on identifying this species, especially not juveniles.

There are many new world cichlids that look very similar at the age.
Here are some examples to compare
Chuco micropthalmus

Paraneetroplus gibbicps

Theraps wesseli

Hypsophrys nicaraguense

There are many many more
sometimes Vieja fenestratus is called the window cichlid

Thanks for your input, I kinda figured it'd be tough since the fish is so small.
