Need an ID for a Tang

Hello

I bought this fish on Saturday and it was the last one, so the LFS doesn't have the tag any more and can't remember the species.

I'm pretty sure it's a juvie lepidiolamprologus, but I don't know what kind.

I'd like to do some research online. It has a little bit of blue on it.

Convicts and Blue Gouramis have a little bit of blue on them, too :)

Without a picture, that's all I can give you :)

Well, I found out there is either something wrong with my account or the site, and I reported the error to the webmaster.

In the meantime I emailed a photo to the LFS that I bought it from and they identified it as a
lepidiolamprologus kendalli.

I'm a little surprised they sold me this fish as I asked for something peaceful for my cyps. It's a real small juvie now, but they can grow to be fairly large and they eat small fish! Not what I call peaceful.

I've got time to enjoy it for awhile and then it's going to have to be a trade in as I don't want any of my rare, expensive and hard to get fish to start disappearing!

Too bad you can't keep the kendali as an adult as it is a beautiful fish when fully developed.Ive kept them in the past along with L.nakambe and elongatus.The three of them look similar but I think kendali looks the best.
 
I have kept Lepidiolamproglus elongatus with other dissimilar looking, but similar sized fish without a problem with aggression.
Small fish such as tetra sized dithers, quickly disappeared, although anything too big to eat was left alone.
 
Always liked the yellow "eyelids" of the elongatus.
 
Thanks guys. I might be able to keep it for a while because it's barely 1 inch now.

One concern is if my cyps start breeding that would a pretty expensive snack 😣

Once I can post pics again I'll put one up just FYI.

How fast do these guys grow?

When mine spawned, I kept the juvies with 1.5" Ctenochromis horei juvies, and young Nosferatu bartoni without a problem.
But I would have been a bit leery of keeping them with small Cyps.
