need an id please guys

right the story goes like this was in one of my favourite shops and saw this little guy labled up as mixed malawis lol he was in with mbunas etc so my first response was to have a little giggle to myself. then noticed the price 5 pounds or ten dollars. so tried to id him my first guess was a young festae as he was more red in the shop was guessin about a year old, but since he has been in my tank he has become more dull which is to be expected. took pics anyway for you to have a go at id ing him for me.

so far im stuck at american and thats about it

any help appreciated

Id say Urophthalmus - nasty buggers.

These are generally imported as Festae but they're not the same shape - too pointy to be festae.

That doesn't look like an actual uro.
IMO looks like a RD x. Could be a RD x uro but IMO that's unlikely. Shoot, could be a RD x festae.

i agree with mayan/hybrid. ive had to many mayans/uros and they didnt look like that. ive never seen blue in the face of any of my mayans
