I'm no expert but it looks like a vieja of some sort, or a mix of one.

Looks like a cross i wouldn't say it has Dovii in it ,does look like it has vieja in it

he is about 8 inches at the moment got him at the weekend for 15 quid the owner who i know well and really knows his fish also had no idea what he is hence im on here asking the experts lol. his aggresion level was high at first but is now actually quite chilled thats about all i can tell you about this guy

Texas is in the mix for sure. Pearling is texas all the way. Body is allmost dempsey IMO. Don't see much veija myself. Interesting fish for sure!!!

hey guys thanks for all the input so far

so first things first we are all agreed it is soe sort of hybrid definately?

and it seems we are quite sure its half texas so what can the other half be?

im not totally sure its vieja the body shape just does not seem right maybe he needs to be filled out a bit

keep em coming guys i really wanna work this little guy out, all i can say is i really like him hes got good character.

what about his tailfin surely that must be some kind of sign its quite distinctly yellow
