Hey, who here is good with catfish? I certainly am not. I am sure it's pimelodus, but trying to ID it myself got me a little :nilly:.

I can't get any full body shots, but his barbels are as long as his body (5-6").

Recognize this pattern? It was sold to me as a 4-line, but I really don't think it is. Pictures of 4-lines are different. Don't mind the algae, it's in a hard to access corner. :D

Pimelodus mysteriosus? That was my guess...

interesting! only will be solid sure if its full body shots and post it over at planetcatfish.com as few Pims keepers over there

Thanks!

I searched over there...I don't want to go through the hassle of joining and posting pictures, and waiting, and waiting... lol

I found this thread http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=27503&p=168577... It still is unresolved - and the closest pictures I have ever found. Again, I am not great with catfish, but I am almost positive it's the same kind of fish. Same head and everything.

im gonna go with P. mysteriosus. i would say its a pictus but the pattern is a bit off...

submit some of your pics to planetcatfish and see what they say. you should get quick answers if you provide clear shots..... or just compare the pics of your cat to those of the P. mysteriosus in the planetcatfish thread.

looks like a pictus to me  bump for the id thats about as much help as i can give lol

Nah... I'm not gonna go through that.

I found this on planet catfish:http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species=pimelodus+mysteriosus&species_id=1961

Looks like my guy. :)
