The two fish in the pics were sold as a proven pair of severums. Spawning at least 5 times. What confuses me is their is no markings on the males gill plates. also, no markings on either ones body. the colour is a metalic blue-green. profile resembles a true parrot as well. Im leaning a bit towards hybrid. or maybe just a species of severum i have never seen. Pics dont do them justice.

any ideas? first two are the male, second two are the female.

hmmm...ill let the severum experts take care of this one, your right though does look like he has some true parrot in them.

everything about them looks severum to me . . . except for the lack of any markings (?) . . . nope, I'm just as puzzled as u are . . .

severum shape blue color from true parrot idk hmmm

It's hard enough to breed H. psitticus with itself, let alone another species.

They're just severums that are lacking in color.

they look like sevs to me but ive never seen that color. maybe u just got some cool ass colored sevs that are rare haha. they look good though

Very true. I know a guy here that has half a dozen true parrot cichlids that ranges anywhere from 8-10" or more to breed for the last year or two now.

severums for sure....the lack of markings is not very unusual...I wonder if the color had anything to do with lighting.....can you get it out of the water and take a picture under sunlight?

They are Severums, but are certainly showing unusual colors, or lack there of. Kinda look like a wierd mutant Turquoise sev.
