Hi guys,

I just got 5 VATF 4" and 1 GATF 6". I have a 260x100x100cm tank (2600L = 600G). I want to speed the growth rate of these fish as fast a possible.

Questions:
1. Should I just put them into this huge tank? Or is it better for me to house them in 100x50x60cm tank (300L = 75G) until they grow to 8"?
2. Later, I'm Planning to get an African Arowana and stingrays. Would these two compatible with the ATF?

for question no. 1, I'm afraid that the ATF gaining speed in large tank and hit the glass if being scared. And also, my sump filter has quiet large opening that the fish can get in there.

Thanks in advance. E451E1C6-F5B4-44AB-A459-0D3026AD3E03.png171BB05A-0B3B-4312-A8EF-B72A8CB4DBE7.png

It doesn't really matter what tank you put them in first, I'd just put them into the larger one first thpugh. As for if they'll get along, they likely would, but it's hard to sat as fish have different personalities.

Probably have less chance bashing walls in bigger tank. I like the idea of putting plants around the tank to minimize reflection and possible blunting a ram into the glass.

Feed good quality pellets or gut loaded feeders (quarantined/treated of course) since hard to get off of live food. Increase ur water changes and should grow quickly.

Should add some dithers as groups of atf like this end up with one fish. Also it’ll train the atf to take prepared foods.

Very hard fish to keep. They are super fast and end up eventually banging their heads. Also most of the time they wont get along when they get over 12" . You would be better off just keeping one of them. I tried this with a FATF and a GATF since babies and it didnt work out in a 300 gal deep dimension. The FATF just wouldnt leave the goliath alone. I know it's not the biggest tank but other keepers here have similar stories I'm sure. In the long run there is just much more rewarding fish to keep. These fish are a constant worry.

I had some of the same problems the blackwolf has. I had a batch of 4 vatf 4 months ago around 5”. They stayed in a school for most of the time due to dithers. I lost them while on vacation because of ammonia levels was too high. A bought a batch of 5 vatf, different vendor, about 2 months ago that was 2”-3”. none of them got along, even with dithers, One killed 3 within 2 weeks.

you mean a goliath tiger fish, like this one?
Image result for goliath tigerfish

If you mean this one then you will need a huge tank/pond or a river to keep one and you couldn't keep those fish with one of these
