Need Answer's Fast

Please help with quick question
1)50 Gallon tank
2)trying to cycle with angels in it ( I know I messed up but am trying my hardest to keep the little guys alive)
3) using prime and stability
4)My question just got 2 filter cartridges from my friend that has a establish tank I check his water parameters and he had 0 Nitrite 0 Ammonia but his Nitrate was up the roof> Very high in the danger levels should I still put his cartridges behing my Biowheel ones or no? Any Answer's would be appreciated please. I really want to add BB as soon as possible

Yes. There will be bacteria there to help cycle you faster. You are not transferring the nitrates. Those are in the water column.

I'm assuming it's the marineland blue cartridges? Just give them a good shake in a bucket of tank water( conditioned). The nitrate readings are from the water in the other tank. Rinse, Drop in the cartridges follow the directions on the stability and you should be good to go.

You dont have to use the old cartridges but it probably won't hurt anything.... It'll probably help speed things along...

I would use it.

holy . never seen a filter that dirty. Use the stress zyme, a type of bacteria in a bottle that eats ammonia and nitrites in your tank. U cab get it in your LPS.

It may look bad but it'll help the cycle move along. I'd rinse it off and use it.
