I currently have ten celestial pearl danios in a ten gallon aquarium, with no other tank mates. I have had these guys set up for going on six months now with no success at all. I am not sure if I am doing somthing wrong or what but they are not willing to do anything. I tryed completely planting the aquarium and they did not do anything at all. I am also only running a sponge filter on the tank so I know they have not breen and the fry have just been sucked into the filter. Any tips on how I can get these little guys to kick into spawning?

They breed like any other danio. Condition the breeders on live or frozen food for a couple of weeks. Lots of java moss in the tank helps. Neutral pH. Need to remove eggs or parents so eggs aren't eaten.

Ok so I put the parents into say another tank let them lay their eggs and remove them and place them back into their original tank. How do I know it is the appropriate time to move the fish, how do I know they are going to spawn? Signs?
