I want to buy a circulation pump for a 5ft 100g freshwater tank to prevent dead spots and debris deposits. I've only had experience with closed loop pumps, so I'd appreciate some advice with choosing this "wavemaker" type.

These are the things I'm looking for in this new pump:
  • silent operation (as in "Eheim silent")
  • low consumption
  • durable
  • fair price (as in NOT "Ecotech expensive")
  • available within EU/Chengen area (international orders aren't worth the hassle)

From everything I've seen so far, I'm leaning toward either Hydor's Koralia evolution 5600 or Koralia 3G 5000, which both seem to tick most if not boxes. Does someone have any experience with these? Or is there any other models/brands I should be looking into? I'm also unsure about the LPH rating, so any insight on that would also be helpful.

I haven't had those models, but have had a small koralia powerhead, and it was reliable, but made a bit of noise.
I currently have a Jebao, which I love so far. Cheap, high output, comes with a controller. It is also pretty silent, though it's only been running about a month

I have a hydor 1400/1500 circ pump on my 210... have it pointing slightly upward about 5 inches below top of water and the whole tank surface moves quit nicely and circulates the whole tank aswell... very quiet... very well made and very cheap... give em a try
