hey everyone i have just bought a 400 series fluvel osaka tank setup. i was looking to buy this blue phantom pleco full grown, would cichlids kill him. this tank is for a showtank for I am breeding and selling cichlid.
The blue phantom is south american and will do much better at a ph between 6.5 and 7.2. Your africans, depending on the type, will look and behave more natural at a ph much higher than this. I would not recommend mixing the pleco with them. As for aggression, it would depend on the type of cichlid.
Plecos with africans can be hit or miss. Sometimes the africans kill the pleco sometimes they leave it alone, sometimes they just rip out it's eyes. I wouldn't risk it with an expensive and possibly more sensitive pleco.
