Is there anyone on this board that is an expert herpetologist or does anyone know of a reputable herpetologist? Even a herpetology board where I might pose this question? I need to find a gene that is exclusive to and ubiquitous in anurans so that I can create an oligonucleotide primer sequence for PCR. I need an assay that can determine if anuran DNA is present in a field-collected sample. If anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate it.

Try sending it to Dr. Steve Johnson from the University of FL. His email is tadpole@ufl.edu. He did his PhD thesis on amphibians so he should know who to ask at the very least. This is a pretty specific question though so it might take some digging around on your behalf.
