what u guys think of using panacur or parazap to de worm lizards..or anything I can use..my next option is VETs..thanks all.

ive heard decent things about panacur and parazap. I think in the end it will depend on what worm or parasite you are dealing with.

Which one has the problem?

abronia-mexican alligator lizard. he looks ok..just today I saw little worm about 1/8 of a inches it's tiny..he is moving around the abronia..and active..just that I need to move fast and find out what type..and I got a sample just incase I need to see a vet..I'm checking around localy for vet that deals with reps.

Humm dude you freaking out without need, chill, if your lizard is eating, pooping normal, plump and active you have nothing to worry about, actualy that means its one less inside of him. The thing is a dewormer can do way worse then the actual parasite can. Ive seen dehidrated and very sick lizards full of worms but I also seen good health ones that died because of the dewormer. And worms is something normal, its when combined with stress and the inmunodrepression that acompains it, that worms can do reall harm. My advice its keeping a eye on him, keep the cage sparcky clean all times to avoid re infection and I would also recomend against something you like to do wich is doing odd combos of reptiles, specialy against doing combos of species from diferent land masses even when they inhabit similar ecossistems. That is something we all to some degree do but specialy when something like worms is involved is better to keep animals isolated. Ho knows the efect that particular species of worm could have in a chameleon for example, considering it could have no defence against the patogen?

Agreed! Deworming also takes a toll on some reptiles reproductive systems.

It's never a good idea to be shoving poisons and Anti-Biotics down an animals throat unless you have a good reason too..........Husbandry is all the preventative maintenence they need.........And they know how to cycle off Parasites quicker than any medication will........It takes 6-8 months with almost daily fecals with many different wormers and AB's to truly "De-Worm" something, not just 2 weeks of Panacur and Flagyl.......

been busy construction start to pick up......about the abronia ...left him alone.and keep the temp a little higher than 74...about 77.....and now he is doing great..eating good..I guess he was cycling parasite that day. thanks coura, mike, varano and EricIvins.:)
