One of my 15" ornate females has been floating near the surface for a day or two. She comes down to the bottom once in a while and chills with the others but mostly has been uncharacteristically chilling near the surface for long periods. Should I be concerned?

Did a wc two days ago and today as well. She's in a 125 gal with many other polys
Parameters are
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 0
Ph 7.2

I don't see any other signs of stress or anything in her or any other fish in the tank.

I am very concerned because I lost a pregnant female a few weeks ago..

Any info and advice will be much appreciated!
Thank you!

This is usually normal for smaller polys, but since it's 15" then thats raises some concern. Do you have any decor? and how many other polypterus do you have in there? and what species? and what sizes of them (you don't have to be exact)? seems like a lot of questions but those questions actually have a meaning lol.

Some decor yes. Some driftwood. A took a new piece out last night after the bump. As well as some rock caves. There are several polys in there including another 15" ornate (female I think), 10" Delhzi, two 9" sengals, and a 9" endli. Also a couple gibbocep Plecos from 7-15".

I will answer any questions you have. I am really worried having lost a 12" pregnant female a couple weeks ago. I don't want to loose any more.

Thank you.

I will also check out the link provided. Thanks a lot both of you. I wanna get this resolved ASAP.

Did another water change late last night.

Ammonia 0
Ph 7
Nitrite .25

Here is a video o the tank that will also answer some of your questions.

Thank you again

after watching the video she might just be up there to escape the ground traffic. You did say she would go down occasionally. Does she go down with struggle or normally? if its normal then she most likely doesn't have bloat or an air bubble. With polys that size and that much movement it could possibly be her just wanting to not have to be bumped and shoved into. I don't see a serious problem as of now, but if anything else comes up like her stomach getting abnormally larger, or her not being able to stay down (like struggling to move around on the bottom as if theres an air bubble in her) then i would start to worry, but as of now i don't see much to be concerned about.

Did you feed them before this happened? It could be they have swallowed a pocket of air in between meals. Happened to my sen, lasted 2 days

They all ate before this occurred. They get massivore, shrimp, salmon, tilapia, and night crawlers..

Can an air bubble be harmful?
She's been at it for four days!!! :(

She doesn't seem to struggle in any movement. When she wants to she goes right down to the bottom. I will be removing the plecos so it'll be a poly specific tank..

Thanks for all your help so far.

Good idea, keep us posted

if she isn't struggling then she doesn't have an air bubble so to me it seems shes fine
