Hi all.
I bought this geo's as Winemilleri, but Peter told me that he thinks that it's Brachybranchus.
What do you think? I need your opinions.
I'm not sure what I've got, all I know that the lfs told me that they are F1 from Germany.

Thanks ahead.

I have some wild caught G. brachybranchus and they look quite different from yours. Yours have a lot of orange/rust coloration in the chest and on the flanks. Mine show none. Also the striping is more continuous on mine. Yours are definitely not 'winemilleri'. Here's a couple of pics .

Very interesting. Yours remind me almost of a geophagus abalios with a spotted tail and black chin marking. I never owned this species so I can't say much, but maybe it's a location thing? Maybe some from other locations look different.

I had a group of brachys that showed a bit of variation. A couple of the females had more orange/red in the chest and showed the scattered/broken blue iridescent lines, but the males didn't really show the red and the blue iridescent lines were continuous. They all show the black throat and the preopercular mark.

Alon, do yours have a preopercular mark? It's hard to tell in the pictures. It could just be not showing. G. brachybranchus should have this.

Yes they do Ryan, Alon posted a video and I did notice that they had it. They look Brachy to me. If not then they def seem to be cf. brachy or along those lines. Seems to be the best match.
