My male gt has just recently gotten sick. It started off looking like ich so I naught medicine. He seemed to be looking better but now looks like he is in pain. :(. He has just gotten a intestinal parasite and has stringy poo. Help me! Please.

That's too bad. He's a beauty too. My best advice is to maintain pristine water conditions & salt. That's all I would and sometimes they come thru. The issue here is that when they become sick, their immune system have been weaken and meds can really do more harm.

If he's eating at all, just maintain the water quality and hope for the best. Good luck!
 
+1 on the pristine water conditions and salt added after w/c's , he needs time to recover id give it a week or so monitor for improvement before adding more medication if needed , good luck I hate it when my fish get sick :(
 
I didn't see this thread until now. Sorry you lost him, he was a good looking fish. If you ever have any problems like this in the future post in the Freshwater Disease and Health Issues section.
 
Also, in the future, if you do believe it
To be an internal parasite, clean water and salt will not help. Epsom salt CAN help but the best course of action would be to treat the tank with prazi pro or some equivalent. Sorry for your loss.
