I need 2 know what i need to put in my new tank 4 chemicals.Its a 30gallon tall and i want it to be salt water. some 1 gave me salt in a little carton that came from wal mart.i dont no if thats the right stuff.what else will i need?what else do i need besides the filter also?some one please just give me detail on how to start a saltwater.thank u!!

What type of setup do you want? A reef? Fish Only? A mixture? Give me some more insight into what you want to accomplish and i'll tell you what you need.

You should open your phone book and find a pet store that sells salt water, then go there and ask them. It seems that you are very novice, that is why I suggest that you start at an lfs, b/c you will have a lot of questions.
no, the salt from wally world is not the salt that you need. you need a salt mix such as - Instant Ocean or Reef Crystals.

Read, read, read. Get a good book on saltwater aquariums and surf the web. Be prepared when you go to your LFS and have a plan. As with all pets, a lot of factors have to be considered in order to provide good care.
We here at MFK gladly give you advice. But it is hard to entirely get you started on saltwater just thru a forum. We will be able to help you more once you have a better idea of what you want your saltwater tank to be like
