Need help about Gars

I am interested in doing a 40gal tank can any types of gars be comfortable in that size? let me know the different types that you thing might or might not work. also if it is and the smaller size how many to the tank a single or a few? Can I feed them live fish and what is the water conditions they need to be kept in temp. ph, salted any info would be great. Where can I get them

If you are talking about true gar, than no you won't be able to keep any in a 40g. You might try the characin versions of gar, they do not get nearly as big as true gar.

it doesn't have to be a true gar any gar recommendation's on any gars for that size and that will eat live foods
