So I've got 7 5-8 inch bad boys and I'm trading a dude some canister filter for his 2 6 inchers
I started with two and added six, that same night, one was a skeleton at the bottom of my 120g. Question is, how do I avoid losing one or both of my new guys? Help me out MFK

I think your tanks a little small but if you're going to do this, then mess everything up in your tank first so all 'tuff' is messed up. I'd lower the temp to 72-74 to bring agro down until they settle in

Take all of them out of your tank, apply a rearrangement of your decor, lower the temp, then add them in together starting with the most recent 2.

It worked with my previous shoal.

thanks im doing all this right now hopefully it works out

Hey I think I emailed the same guy about those Ps, he was in Jersey right? I was thinking about trading him myself. But to the question asked I added Ps to my shoal as well. I added two of them at two different times to the six originals. The two I added were both bigger than the originals. My originals are about 5 or 6 inches and the ones I added are 10 and 8 inches. When I added the 10" one they gave him a hard time, I guess it was because they seen him as a threat. I added an Oscar to take some of the heat off of him. When I added the 8 inch one, about 2 months later, they never bothered him. I didn't even have to change the decor the second time. I would suggest the same as the others, change the decor around, but I noticed that there is more success if you leave them all in the tank and just scare the crap out of them and they all hide and school together. There is no better way to get instant shoal bonds than fear. I also would recommend adding some other kind of fish (something you don't mind losing of course). I added anything from goldfish, to tetras, to an oscar. Good luck.
