I have an 8" malaysian arowana.. with 2 birch in a 60 gal tank..

symptoms..
Aro's not swimming..
Stay's at the bottom of the tank..
NO appetite..
Seems like stretching/opening aro's mouth/choking

NO signs of gasping for air
NO physical signs of bacteria..

Diet consists of very small fish about 1".
I vaccumed the gravel yesterday with about 50% water change..
temperature drop form 30 to 26 due to water change

I'm assuming that he ate something that fell inside the aquarium overnight or chocking from something

Need your help.. I just bought my aro 2 weeks ago.. TNX!

That was a large drop in water temp in such a short space of time, it is likely that this at least has contributed to your arowana's stress at least to a certain extent, you should try and avoid big quick fluctuations in tank temp, a sudden change of 3degree's is all that is needed to cause dropsy in some fish.

have you tried to see if she has something in her moutgh/throat? Has happened already..things get stuck inside.
