Ok guys my puppy ended up chewing up one of my used dispoable filters. My little sister is freaking out and i wana know if the little black things that were in the filter will hurt him if he ate any of them. PLEASE REPLY QUICKLY!! I wana know if we need to take him to a vet or something.

Do you mean the carbon? (black and gravel like) if so I don't think it's toxic.
yeah the carbon i think

should run right through i cant see it having anything toxic since it is fish safe, however if its used may have dirt and what not, take the dog to the vet to be sure...... another question why the hell do you keep used filter cartridges laying around?

No. He will be fine. I would definitely watch for his "bowel movements" though, lol.

This is a tricky question, if it was brand new then it should be fine??? but if it was old and used then maybe just call a vet and ask their opinion???

Otherwise, just keep an eye out for your dog and see if it starts acting weird, in which case maybe its time to take him/her to a vet???

Ok thanks. The little bugger dug the used thing out of the garbage and decided to shred it. So you think he's going to be ok?

"runs" is right...and if you have an extra $100 goto the vet. I think he'll be ok tho. My pups have eaten all kinds of things not meant for consumption as long as it's non toxic. He should be good.
