So I went to work this morning and my tigrinus cat was doing fine when i got home he was laying on his side every so often he would try to swim go near the top of the tank go belly up and sink to the bottom and lay on his side. I got him out of the tank into a bucket gave him a bubble stone 50% tank water 50% fresh water. His tank sits at 80 I rose the water up to about 84. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

How often do you feed and what are you feeding? What size is the fish? We also need water parameters.
he is about 6" long eats rose reds, guppies, Canadian night crawlers, and blood worms.
To be honest I threw out my testing equipment about 2 years ago because every time I tested my tanks and made slight changes I lost fish. This is only the second fish I have had have problems since. I do weekly water changes of about 35%. He was in a 55 gallon bow front living with feeder fish and plecos (he ate all his other tank mates shortly after I got him). I have had him for about 4 weeks now and he has always been an active swimmer and healthy eater.

Sorry to hear it as well. If you try again it was probably your water because I've grown 2 tigs from 4-6" to 10" on live (rosies and guppies) only then convert them to tilapia, whole lake smelt, and red worms at 10".
I'll go out and get some test today and see if I cant maybe find a culprit I'm ganna guess an increase in ammonia even tho i did a water change on tuesday.
man i have to think twice about getting me a tigrinus... it's sound so hard to keep a tigrinus .. and i see why its cost so much...
