Ok well my friend just set up his 130 gal tank had it running for a week he likes my RBP'S but sees i only got 8 in a 150 gal. and things thats much to boring and he is going first thing in the morn to get 15 or more hes been watchin the u tube videos with the large schools and now wants the same what can i say to stop him.

i piranha is to 30 gallons as every one after is to an adtional 20 gallons

First off a WEEK set up are now enough cycle time. His water now are not ready for piranha, so I would tell him not the get any yet at this time. After 2-3 week check his water parameter, ph, etc...so see if it good and ready for fish. (be safe then sorry)
If your friend want to burn his money and learn the hard way, let him be. He should know piranha are very unpredictable, and 15 piranha would be good in only for couple of month. I can promise you that by the time the piranha up to 6-7" he will lose a few piranha come aggression and territories due from to much piranha in small tank.
150gallon are only good for 6 full grown for life IMO...you can tell him just buy all 15 but sell some as they growing up.

Honestly...theres not really anything your going to be able to do to talk him out of his plans.
Some people just have that...FULL tank look and you can't change it. Some people keep adding fish LONG after they will be a problem as adults and then worry about the problems later on. Most of the fish die off under their care long before they reach full adult size anyway...
They either learn after the first major disaster and become responsable fishkeepers or they quit. Most of them quit or move on to the next COOL fish to keep and show off to friends.
This is the YouTube mentality...the hollywood look of a huge school of P's tearing into a chunk of meat or some feeders. Hardly a mature attitude..and not too many steps above frying ants with a magnifying glass IMO.
One good thing about having this guy as a friend...Before long you can pick up all of his used tanks and equipment for next to nothing....

haha the last part yah i got my 150 gal with total set up for 200 bucks a cpl years ago when he ****ed up big time with a south amarican set up and put everything u can think of over 10'' in there and lost everyhting but one red oscar that so badly beatin he just killed it himself. now hes back into it and didnt learn a thingWolf3101;1274700; said:
