My Oscar all of a sudden just starts dashing round the tank bashing of the lid into the decor he’ll go full speed bashing of everything then just sit in a corner any ideas why any help appreciated?

How much cover is there in the tank? How bright are the lights? Cichlids don’t do well in bright, open tanks as they feel exposed to predators.

That might be what’s up at first he seemed happier when I moved all the decor to the left and right so he had more space to swim but could that be the problem?

150 gallon jack dempsy 1 flag tail 1 pleco 1 feather fin catfish and 2 kissing groumies
then i think the oscar is "flashing " which is caused by parasites. it often common in cichlids

Kissing Gouramis are an instrument of the devil; their persistent smooching on all surfaces, including other fish, can drive some tankmates crazy. The bigger they are, the worse it gets. You don't mention the relative sizes of the fish in that tank but this might be something to think about and watch out for.

I have a couple of acquaintances who think my home is a repository for all the antisocial, got-too-big, no-longer-cute fish that come and go through their Auschwitz-like home tanks, so I see this a lot...and I am convinced that Kissing Gouramis are the record holders for Worst Aquarium Fish Ever.

Because I'm anally into geographically correct biotopes, you will take my narrow views with grain of salt, but.....
to me the only 3 fish that belong together in that tank are the oscar, the pleco, and the Prochilodus.

Although kissing gouramis prefer much the same "soft water" parameters that the S Americans do, they are from South East Asia, so for me, belong in a Javanese of Sumatran biotope, not in a S American one.
Same for the feather fin, although it also appreciates similar water parameters as the S Americans, but is African, so again, for me on principal alone, seems out of place with S Americans.

Now, JDs are hard water, high pH species from the Yucatan in Mexico, almost 4000 miles from where oscars and other Amazonian fish come from, so beyond just being geographically incorrect, they appreciate much different water parameters than the South Americans..

Now whether these opposite geographic differences contribute to the wackiness in the tank, is debatable,t.....did you QT any of these fish? or just toss them together?

There are parasites common to Asian species that they are more or less immune to, but may be quite infective to S American species, and vice versa.
