I would like to build my first acrylic tank.
What will I need to complete this project.

I was thinking something along these demensions.
4'L x 3'W x 12"H- Thought on a demension like this....

How thick would one need to go on the acrylic to have no worries at all about bowing or stress issues?

What kind of bonding agent do I need to do this also?

Anything else one can think of about building a tank like this guys?

Thanks for any help on this issue?

You could try polycarbonate. It is 150 times stronger and much stiffer than your normal plexiglass. Great stuff but close to double in cost.

better stick to the norm as they say polycarb scratches easily and can leech over time if it was aquarium safe everyone would use it because of its strenth

yeah poylcarb is wicked expensive

cell cast acrylic is what you want to use, and 1/2" would be fine for a 12" tall tank. Acrylite is a good brand name. Look in the DIY section under "Monster Diy Atricles" MILKMAN407 has a very good thread on buillding tanks using acrylic
