Need help building PVC Manifold for Air Pump

I have a Medo Linear piston 60. Runs up to 60 outlets. I will be using it on about 20-20gallon tanks and couple 75 gallon tanks. I currently have 2 12outlet manifolds. I have heard building your own manifold using 1-1.5in. PVC pipe will create more air??? I want the maximum amount of air flow without hurting my tanks. Should I leave it or create a new one? I have great flow now but I would like to maybe have 30 outlets.
