Need help building this stand

Hello All,
So i found this low profile stand from a member here on MFK that i would love to have. Im not much of a wood shop kind of guy, but i probably could manage with my dads help. What i really would like is some sort of blue print with measurement, plus list of materials needed for the build. I especially like the grainy look on the stand, but not sure how that is done especially on the top and bottom part of the stand. Isnt that regular 2x4? If so, how did they get the stained grain look on it? Someone please help, or even better if anyone who lives near San Jose, CA who can build it for cheap...ill be good with that too.

the design should be the same as any of the other diy stand builds, just go with shorter vertical beams.
These plans (link below) show using 4x4's....you can go with 2x4's or 2 x 2x4's put together which would equal a 4x4 but would be cheaper.

By grainy i meant stained wood look.

prskiller- I think you nailed it on my question. I was wondering what kind of wood panels to put over the frame work. Do I need to put wood panels on the top part where it looks like a 2x4?
