Last night I did somthing I never do bought fish without researching them. Kids had to have them though. Red tailed botia. Looked in fish tank today and now they are gone I only have one cave and the clown pleco has kept them all chased away. Let me tell you pulling a 55 gal tank and stand out by yourself the first  thing in the morning is not an easy job neither. Before I get a size lecture their going in a 120 gal Christmas. There close to 4 in and can not find them any where I have The typical rock in my tank. Do these guys bury themselves. Did a little research but don't have time to do alot today seeing as me and my wife are probaly adopting my necie and nephew any help would be great. I've looked everywhere for these guys and can not find them. No vents anywhere for them to crawl into and for the life of me can't figure out how they could have got out. Am I worried about nothing and there burried in there?

Red tail botia are really good jumpers, I would check around the tank. And if nothing, uproot every rock and whatever else might create a crevice. Goodluck!

loaches are excellent at hiding in hollowed out decor. I have 12 red tail blues and I only ever see a couple at a time usually. give them time, they will come out. check the tank in the morning while the lights are still off.

Crispy you are the fish keeper! I have the top sealed and thought my 13 year old did somthing. After dinner they all started coming out of a hole there was no way they could fit in so now that cave got traded with one from another tank. To add to everything we got my neice an nephew and this past weekend I was able to put my hands on a Fluval fx5 from my neghbor for 90$ everything still wraped. I think this is where everything falls apart. Thank you everybody for your input.
