I found a deal I could NOT pass up. There is a 125 gallon tank with 2 fluval 404 all chemicals fish nets gravel decorations and a custom black stand I am getting for $100!!! So now I need to know what I should get to put in it. I want something easy to breed but easy on the eyes. It is going to be a tank for my nephew who is only 18 months. I have a 180 gallon that does not have a stand and he sits in the floor laughing and pointing to my Electric Yellow Clichlids. So I could not pass up this deal the filters alone if working would be worth it.

Any suggestions would be great. Nothing too expensive I was thinking maybe some cichlids or some mollies. Just something that will breed fairly easy. I want to try my luck at getting better colors out of less expensive fish :P

Thanks!

Add another $50-100 to your budget and buy half a dozen Discus fry/growouts...In the long run, Discus color and parental lifestyle will win over you and your nephew's heart.....

DISCUS

I know this might sound cheap but plain old Common Goldfish are good they can get really big in that 125 gallon tank and you said it is for your 18 month old nephew and he likes the Electric Yellow Clichlids which are shiny and so are the Goldfish. Also I would imagine that they would breed fairly well although I don't think you would make much if any mony off of them.

they dont have to be small.. my 8 month old gets a kick out of my oscar. who is pretty big.

but if you want a community, discus are beautiful. though pricey the bigger they get and from what i understand..they are fragile

Small discus would be nice I would like to try a few. Any suggestions or pictures? They don't have to be big but I also don't wish to pay $100's of dollars for some :P So I would rather get them small and just let them grow out over time.

I say a jewel cichlid breeding tank, they are beautiful fish

Rainbowfish. Beautiful and easy to breed. Inexpensive, too, 'cause even for a rare species, with a little advice and patience, you could raise many fry up from a mop that would cost $30 - 40 including shipping - enough to keep a large school and sell the rest after culling.
