I want to get a new herp. I have a decent amount of experience and have kept ball pythons, corns, leos, and a dumeril boa. I wasnt something that looks awesome, needs a max of about a 40 gallon (preferably smaller) and that doesnt need uv (if absolutly necessary ill get uv). Thank You im looking for a lizard/gecko, bu am open to snakes aswell.

I would personally go with something arboreal to make things more interesting.

Could always do crested gecko, day gecko, leaf tailed gecko, amazon tree boa, etc... or a smooth/rough green snake if you're looking for a smaller set up.

Personally, in terms of lizards:

For lizards that don't need UV lighting (although providing it would not hurt) , my top reccomendation if you can source them are Wonder Geckos (a.k.a. Frog Eyed Geckos). They are hearty eaters and are easy to maintain when kept singly and in colonies. If it tickles your fancy I can give you more information.

For lizards that need UV, I'd choose a Blue Tongue Skink or a species of Uromastyx.

Just my personal opinion here. Although BTS poop like horses.

Viper boas are neat. You could also get some of the larger geckos like Uroplatys (sp?) or leachies. maybe some gopher snakes?

do you know of anyone who captivly breeds viper boas
