One of my parrots has this infection on the side of its mouth. I would assume it is a bacterial infection. I have already tried 7 day melafix it worked for a week then started growth back. I also tried 6day days of furan-2. That worked for a couple of weeks then fungus or infection started growing back. Any idea what infection it has or what kind of treatment I should give it? My other ideas is try daily epsom salt baths or I'm thinking about trying out Seachem Paraguard. I also have a question to whether Paraguard will be too strong for a common pleco which I have in the same tank.136608713660881366089

Hard to say what it is. Can repeat furan2 with kanamycin. Can dab the area with some methylene blue on a qtip. Does have a duck lips look but not sure about parrot cichlids and what normal looks like.

It doesn't seem to have duck lips anymore. Before it did. but yeah I don't really know what to try and treat it with. It's mouth is just huge since it's about 6" long now. Likes to suck up marbles about 1cm diameter and spit them out like these fish like to move subtrate/rocks/sand around. You can make the bottom/ground flat and then 2-3 days later it's like a valley of hills or a plain with dips everywhere.

Update:
I treated it with something called Metro+ recommended from local store. It seemed to work a lot faster than furan2/w kanamycin. You can see how there is no more white bacterial fungus around it's mouth. Started seeing changes in 2-3 hours. Now the problem after 2 weeks is with the nose. It turns out the nose is like another bacterial infection but it's black so no idea what it really could be. IMG_20190413_130147_Bokeh.jpgIMG_20190413_130102.jpgIMG_20190413_130129_Bokeh.jpg

Any idea what the black stuff in its nose is? It seems to eat away the flesh too. Slowly, very slowly.
