i read many of the post on the diy. i want to build an overflow pvc. but this is all new to me and i dont understand the charts.

i have a 75 gallon fowl tank. i also have a 30 gallon long thats been converted for a sump.

Im not sure on what size pvc pipe i should use for the overflow. i was thinking 1"?!? or should this be bigger.

as for the return pump, what should be used? how big should the return line be?

sorry for such newb questions but i just not understanding what size and pump should be used.

1" is fine for the overflow.

I have two 1" overflows with two Quiet One 4000s on my 210 and they handle the flow fine. I only have two because the sump is a 55 gallon and it has to intakes over the media section.

Pump return is usually 3/4". Make it whatever size the output from the pump is. Don't reduce it.

cool. thanks

How do you know on what power head to use?
will Quiet One 4000s be too much for my 75?
