G'day everyone
Very new to the large tank hobby. I've had copious small tanks before but have recently sold all my small tanks and bought a 6 foot aquarium.
I got it for a steal of Gumtree (Aussie craigslist), the tank is 180cm by 60cm deep and 71cm tall. Came with stand, sump, fx5, eheim pro, huge UV and heaps of other misc aquarium stuff. My only issue with the tank is that it was a custom made reef in its previous life and as a result has two 50mm (2inch) holes in the bottom pane. I love the flow opportunities this gives and with a tiled bottom lends itself to major poop sucking power. I cant have standpipes as its going to be near my bed and i'm yet to find a design that is quiet enough.
Ive attached an image of a few drawings, for possible return options. (drawn from the rear)
Im going to buy a dc controllable return pump so I can get the flow as efficient as possible. I'm just chasing some opinions from people who know what there talking about.
Sorry for the long post.
Cheers guys
Jack
