Hey Everybody,

Well I purchased my 6 inch eel at a lfs in bay plaza. The workers said they have been feeding the fish in this particular tank Rosy Reds...guppies. I came last to this lfs a day before they recieved this import. Snow flakes go fast at the lfs...lol. Well it's been about two days now and no luck with cut squid, mussel, silver sides and cubes of brine shrimp. He seems to be doing normal behaviors, swimming through rocks and occasionally comeing out of the live rocks. Also I hope over time he gets used to his habitat and comes out at regular basis like on some vids on youtube...lol. Well my question is, Is thier any foods that will get my eel to feed on? Also not related to eel, but my rose bulb anemone expands his tentacles into to long and thin shapes and opens up nearly flat. Is this because he is hungary or it's because I turned off the lights? Btw I fed him some brine shrimp yesterday, and waiting if the clown will host it, if not gonna try a maroon clown.

Thanks

market prawns, I'll give them a try. Tomorrow I'll purchase some....lol. Any other suggestines would help also lol

They have been fed rosies and live foods which is not good. He wants live and you should not give up. Don't feed him live its bad for him. That lfs should really re think what they are training their eels.....

He will eat it in time.

X2. Try for a varied diet as well.

Ok in the fringe I have prawns, squid and mussels. tried that weird garlic thing but he still seems not interested....

Any luck?

What really gets eels excited are those foods that are "smelly" - that is, the eel must be able to pick up it's scent in the water. Every time I put squid into the water, my eels go ballistic and are always are keen for some chow.

Anyway, also remember that Snowflake Eels don't normally go for fish as thier main diet, preferring inverts and the like. If you can try to get some prawn, shrimp, crab etc I'm sure that'll work.

try some live ghost shrimp if he wont eat any form of prepared food. its the only thing i can get my attenatta lion to eat. so i went from straight live ghost shrimp to ghost shrimp at the same time as frozen mysis shrimp and now i get him excited by dropping 2-3 ghost shrimp in at the same time as a cube of mysis shrimp and he goes nutty for the ghost's and winds up eating a bunch of mysis.

Hey guys well today, I placed a market prawn on the feeding tungs and he ate nearly a=the entire fish. I will be going to the markets to purchase shrimps.

Thats Whats up i had the same issue with mine he did not eat for nearly a month once i finally got him to eat he ate Market Shrimp which is all he eats and every now and then he eats one of my mollys but what ever.

good luck
