:welcome: :nutkick:

i'm in search of a certain size tank. i guess you can say its a ray tank. I'm sure i wont be able to find someone that has this or willing to sell this tank at this demension but hey why not try asking.

If i cant find it already made, then i'm looking for someone that can make it custom for me. I have already researched the big brand names and decided against. so if you can or no someone or some place that can make this for me, then please let a fellow hobbyist know.

--------------------------------------------

this is what i seek:

78"L x 42"W x 20"H this would be a 284g

looking for atleast a 250g.

has to be reef ready with overflow built in the middle.

have not decided on glass or acrylic. would need expertise on what would be the most durable at that demension.

tank only! dont need anything but the tank.

----------------------------------------------

any pms or comments or inputs or 2 cents are always welcomed. but most importantly i need someone to point me in the right direction.

if its in the state of Illinois or around the chicago or chicagoland area including someparts of Indiana and Wisconsin I can pick it up.

If not shipping is not a problem just let me know cost if not free would be nice. lol

thanks

i thought i had posted this but it didnt come up so here it is again....:WTF:

Good luck. That will make a great ray tank. Go with acrylic.

I had my tank made by a place here in Maine, and have seen their ad on the Google ad banner at the top of this page. Not sure about shipping, but you could contact them. http://www.marineeco.com/

thanks and i will check them out. did you go with acrylic or glass? hows it holding up?

I went with acrylic, I don't think they make glass tanks. Seems to be holding up fine. They do have lifetime guarantee too. My tank is going on 3 years now.

Somewhere on their web site is a picture of a custom lobster tank set up in a grocery store in Ohio, so they must ship tanks.

i'll have to check thm out. i just dont want my arylic tank ending up turning yellow. hope they have the right acrylic...

thanks bro

i would prefer glass just not sure i woul wont i heavy arse tank...

:feedback: (why does the little guy have to have a mean face?)

acrylic turning yellow? lol i think that use to happen 10 or 20 years ago. Just get the cycro acrylic... more clairity then glass, more durable, doesnt take 20 people to move it. Easy cuts to add holes or stuff. Glass has absolutely no pros over acrylic. Other than its cheaper , but for a reason. Acrylic these days has improved so much, read up on what they have done to the cycro acrylic, very hard to beat. Only thing actually is straching , just dont be dumb and its easier to fix a scratch on acrylic than on glass. I hate my glass 210..

Why dont you just order the pieces from a place then glue it together yourself? practice on a 50 gallon or so then if you do good just do it!

My company makes custom tanks out of both glass and acrylic.. telling someone that's never built and acrylic tanl before to just do it might not be the greatest idea in the world.. the odds of messing up are quite high and even if you can get it to stay together whose to say that it will hold under water pressure..

285 gallons of water on your floor is not funn and way more expensive then to just get the tank proffessionally built in the first place..

:iagree: thanks for saving me the typing trouble...some people are meant to make tanks and some are not. i am one of those "NOT's"
