Looking for advice from the experts. Got a brand new 180 gallon up and running with a diy 40 gallon trickle style sump. (Freshwater application, maybe future fowlr). It has the aqueon megaflow setup. Running a current eflux dc pump at 4ft of head. Chart says thats about 1300 gph. Max is 1900 gph at 0ft of head. When I have it running 75 to 100 percent wide open it seems pretty noisy to me. The drains with the little holes on top of the 90s seem to be sucking a lot of air which seems even louder when I put the glass tops on the tank? Is there a fix for that? The other loud noise is for sure coming from the noise of the water rushing down the drain tubes. Should I replace these with a different tubing that could make it quiter? Now,when I dial that dc pump back down to 50 percent its much more quieter and tolerable. The buckets are filled 3/4 of the way with bio balls, with a drip tray and poly fill on top.

Looks like im look at built in over flows ? Yes? If thats the case you dont need the 90s on the stand pipes , as far as quiteing water flow you could make some kind of bracket to hold filter socks and add think I saw something recently about silencers for them that lay inside the top of a sock , as far as pump can't tell what it is sitting on but get some of the blue and white filter sheet and triple it up and put pump on that if internal , if external get some rubber put pump on top of rubber and bolt down.
