The 2 braces that go across my 220 gallon tank that are used to hold the glass/acrylic sheets have snapped. One snapped in the middle due to a past accident and now the other snapped right at the edge of the aquarium wall unexpected. Can you purchase a new plastic bracket that goes the whole way around the tank for tanks or will I have to build something? Impossible to glue or try and screw something into it. Anyone ever have a similar problem? Thanks guys!

If you know the brand of tank, just check with your LFS and they should be able to order it for you. The last Aqueon 210 band I got went for about $50. Its easy to replace, just drain 2/3 water out, slide a short 2x4 wood block up & down hitting the edge of band untill you brake-it free, then work around tank til its all loose. Clean-off silicone with razor blade. Put bead of silicone in groove of new band & push it back on. If you can't get the same brand your tops may not fit!

Yes absolutely. I've replasced a couple of tops this way. Good luck!

Ok well hopefully I can find a replacement. What if I do not know the brand of my tank? I bought the tank off craigslist over a year ago and loss contact with the previous owner.
