My buddy has a 100gal tank that is empty, doesn't even have water in it. Tomorrow I told him I would help hims set it up and stock it. He doesn't know what kind of fish he wants I recommended a freshwater tropical( Guppies, tetras, mollies, etc.), a Chichlid tank, a predatory style fish tank (shark, catfish, gar, etc.) He know NOTHING bout fish and doesn't know. What do you guys recommend would be the nicest looking tank for how basement. And this is an extra long tank 3-4 feet long I think. He wants to know what you think. Please don't hesitate as we are doing this at noon or 1 tomorrow.

Thanks in advance.

100g seems small for a shark or gar tank imo. but theres a bucnh of cichlids available . i think a tank of that size is wasted with guppies and stuff i.e small fish with out personalities ...

Just get one decent size cichlid, try maybe a good size green terror or a community tank is easy. Might want to set up the tank and let it cycle for a month before just adding water and fish

I hope you are not setting it up AND stocking it tomorrow, that is unless you are using an already established filter with the proper beneficial bacteria.
Setting it up is one thing, just make sure you are allowing the proper time to fully cycle your tank before adding any fish.
Good luck.

Please cycle your tank first... That is the basic of fishkeeping

If you are indeed going to cycle the tank before adding fish like you stated you have plenty of time to research and decide what fish to stock it with.
