My ornate has a really bad infection or something going on on his back. if yall remember a while back i posted about some kind of fungal infection and moved him to a hospital tank for a time. i thought he was fine after a while and moved him back to the bigger tank. its been two weeks since i moved him to the bigger tank and he has lost his skin on his back. i only come home once every two weeks cuz i am in college so i didn't see this until now( off course my sister claims she didn't see it, she does my wc when i am gone :irked:)

what i can do for the little guy? hes in the hospital tank right now with the reg stuff, salt, stress coat, temp 84.

use bio-bandage on that. you need to take him out of the water for a second, its a powder that turns into a sticky gel that you put on the injury. Its basically like using neosporin, that and melafix with help

Did you have a uncovered heater in your tank looks more like a burn one of my plecos got caught behind a heater once and looked just like this. The dead skin falls away and it takes a long time to grow back . With my pleco I added epson salt at 1/4teaspoon per gallon to keep infection out. I am not sure with bichirs and salt though as i am still new to them. Hopefully someone else will let you know. The skin looks healthy I would not cover it. Can you put up a closer pic of the wound.

iam sure thats not a heater burn, because in the 125g the heaters are in the sump. just click on the pic and it should let u enlarge

iam going to get some meds as soon as the lfs opens tom
